This was the second game of the series, I was at the first game of the series somehow I did not take my camera to the game and had no photos so did not do a post. The Royals did win the first game 7-4 Tyler Matzek started game 1 for the Rockies and had a pretty good outing till the 7th inning when the Rockies gave up 3 runs and K.C. too a 4-2 lead. Rex Brothers came in in the 8th and once again melted down, this time after getting 2 outs to the first 2 batters and then faced 6 more batters and let up 3 runs the Royals had a 7-2 lead. The Rockies got 2 back on a Drew Stubbs home run. James Shields started for the Royals and only gave up 2 runs and one was in the first to give the Rockies a lead in the first and the second was a Nolan Arenado homerun in the 5th.

This series I got 3 baseballs during batting practice 2 on Tuesday and 1 on Wednesday. The Tuesday game both came off of Brandon Barnes one was a bouncer that I picked up and caught the second. The third was hit by D.J. LeMahieu  hit about 4 rows behind me a bounced back to me.

Matt McBride started his first game since being called up from Colorado Spring. He came up in the 6th inning with base’s loaded and 2 outs and was put to the big league test and I think he passed! He hit a grand slam home run and the Rockies took a 5-2 lead.

With the 5-2 lead La Troy Hawkins came into pitch the 9th after a very good game by Jorge De La Rosa who pitched 8 innings Giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, he did walk 3 but also struck out three. He throw 103 pitches. It was great to see a starting pitcher come to bat for himself in the 7th inning! Not something we get to see much as Rockies fans. Hawkins got all 3 Royals out in the 9th and the Rockies won this game with the 5-2 to split this 2 game series with the Royals.
